The attack unfolded during a joint search operation prompted by intelligence inputs on terrorist presence in the Dhera Ki Gali area of the Thanamandi-Surankote region in Poonch district on Wednesday night.
Jammu-based defense PRO Lt Col Suneel Bartwal reported that as additional forces were en route to the site, terrorists targeted the Army vehicles—a truck and a Gypsy. The troops responded swiftly to the attack, and an ongoing operation is underway to gather further details.

The chosen location of Dhatyar Morh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district facilitated the terrorists’ ambush, strategically capitalizing on a blind curve and uneven terrain. Despite security forces retaliating, the terrorists managed to escape from the scene.
