Ahmedabad (Khabarr.com) – The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Summit kicks off with grandeur as Prime Minister Narendra Modi extends a warm welcome to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit, held in Gandhinagar, promises to be a hallmark event, attracting leaders and investors from around the world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan marked the beginning of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 with a 3 km-long roadshow from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport to Gandhinagar. The UAE President, the chief guest at the summit, arrived in Gujarat to participate in the prestigious event, emphasizing the strengthening ties between India and the UAE.
The Ministry of External Affairs shared the symbolic moment on social media, stating, “Reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship! In a special gesture, PM Narendra Modi warmly received HH Mohamed bin Zayed, UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi as he arrived at the Ahmedabad Airport.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show at Gandhinagar, a precursor to the summit. The trade show, spanning from January 9 to 13, 2024, is anticipated to be the largest in the country, covering two lakh square meters and featuring over 1,000 exhibitors from 20 countries. A statement from the Gujarat government highlighted the full booking of the exhibition area and the participation of around 100 countries, with 33 acting as partners.
During the inaugural proceedings, PM Modi engaged with heads of state from Mozambique and Timor-Leste, expressing a commitment to stronger economic and strategic ties. The meeting with Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi involved discussions on defense, counter-terrorism, energy, health, trade, investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity building, and maritime cooperation.
PM Modi proposed enhancing air connectivity between India and Mozambique, aiming to boost business, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people relations. President Nyusi acknowledged India’s support for the inclusion of the African Union in the G20, and the leaders explored cooperation in multilateral forums, including the UN.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, initiated in 2003 under PM Modi’s leadership when he was the state chief minister, has evolved into a global platform showcasing Gujarat’s growth and creating opportunities. The 10th edition, held from January 10-12, 2024, boasts 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations. The Ministry of Development of the North-Eastern Region is leveraging the summit to highlight investment opportunities in the North-Eastern regions.
The summit agenda includes seminars and conferences addressing globally relevant topics such as Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and Transition towards Sustainability. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show features displays of products using state-of-the-art technology, focusing on sectors like E-mobility, Start-ups, MSMEs, Blue Economy, Green Energy, and Smart Infrastructure.
