A bomb blast occurred today at The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Kundalahalli, leaving nine people injured. The explosion took place around 12:30 pm, as captured by the cafe’s CCTV cameras.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing reporters, confirmed that an improvised explosive device (IED) was responsible for the blast. He stated that the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to ascertain the motive behind this alarming incident.
The police, who initially sought to determine the cause of the explosion, were joined by a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), a bomb squad, and a forensics laboratory. Their collective efforts aimed to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the blast and gather crucial evidence.
Siddaramaiah shared insights into the preliminary findings, mentioning that the explosion was linked to a bag left behind by a customer. The Chief Minister emphasized that the incident is being treated as a clear case of a bomb blast.
Sri Nagaraj, the founder of Rameshwaram Cafe, provided additional details, revealing that one of their employees sustained injuries in the blast. Speaking about the incident, he affirmed that the explosion was not caused by a cylinder but rather by a suspicious bag left within the premises.
The cafe, known for its popularity in the area, now stands as a crime scene as investigators diligently work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.
