Actress Rashmika Mandanna, known for her roles in blockbuster hits, recently faced a life-threatening situation aboard an Air Vistara flight.
The incident happened during what was supposed to be a routine journey from Mumbai to Hyderabad, turning it into a chilling experience for the actress and fellow actor Shraddha Das.
The harrowing incident took place after only 30 minutes of the flight, when the aircraft experienced technical issues and turbulence, leading the pilots to decide to make an emergency landing in Mumbai.
Rashmika, who was on the same flight with her brother Shradha Das, was among the passengers who faced some uncomfortable turbulence before the aircraft made a safe landing at the chhatrapati shivaji maharaj international airport.
Taking to her Instagram account, Rashmika shared a selfie with Shraddha Das, capturing the gravity of the situation with the caption, “Just FYI this is how we escaped death today…”.
Rashmika Mandanna, listed in Forbes 30 under 30, is currently immersed in the shooting of her highly anticipated film, “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” where she will reprise her iconic role of Srivalli alongside Allu Arjun.
A spokesperson for Air Vistara confirmed the incident, stating, “Shortly after take-off, a technical snag was detected on Vistara flight UK531 operating from Mumbai to Hyderabad on 17 February 2024. As a precautionary step, in accordance with the standard operating procedures, the pilots decided to turn-back and landed the flight safely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport, Mumbai.”
In the face of adversity, the airline arranged an alternate aircraft, ensuring minimal inconvenience to the passengers. Refreshments were offered as part of the efforts to make the unexpected return as comfortable as possible for those on board.
