After the triumph of “Animal,” fans have been anxiously anticipating Ranbir Kapoor’s next project.
A recent video circulating on the internet has ignited speculation about a potential collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and his “Wake Up Sid” co-star, Konkona Sen Sharma.
Filmmaker Karan Johar, associated with “Wake Up Sid” through Dharma Productions, shared a video from the same shoot, confirming it to be an advertisement. This revelation left fans yearning for a sequel.
The shared video displays a montage of clips and pictures, showcasing Ranbir and Konkona in blue and white outfits reminiscent of their iconic roles in “Wake Up Sid.”
In response to Karan Johar’s post, fans took to social media to express their mixed emotions. One user pleaded, “Don’t play with us like this,” while actor Namit Das exclaimed, “Wohoooo.”
Despite recent photos fueling speculation about a sequel to the 2009 romcom, insiders reveal that Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma are not reuniting for “Wake Up Sid 2.”
A close source to the development clarified that the duo is indeed working together, but not for a film sequel. Instead, they are shooting for an upcoming ad endorsement, set to be released on Thursday.
Dismissing any notions of a “Wake Up Sid” sequel, the source questioned the idea of returning to the film after fifteen years, stating, “Wake Up Sid was not Gadar, for God’s sake!”
The source concludes, “In the ad, Ranbir and Konkona play the characters from Wake Up, Sid.” Hopefully, this revelation puts an end to all speculations surrounding their on-screen reunion.
